Alex Leblanc was born and raised exploring the Wasatch mountains of Utah. After some years spent alpine skiing, snowboarding and downhill mountain biking, he switched to telemark in 2013. Every season he skies the Wasatch backcountry with some of the best, and continue to learn.

  • At what age did you start skiing ? 5 years old
  • When and why did you start telemarking? I started Telemark skiing when i was 19, always thought it looked surfy and fun watching my uncle Danny Campbell shred the tele.
  • What do you like about telemark? I love the surfy freeness of the turn and of course all the powder face shots!
  • What do you like about Meidjo bindings? I love the meidjo for its active flex and lightweight touring capabilities
  • What is your favorite spot for telemarking? Anywhere there is no tracks in front of me (:
  • Where is your next destination or where would you like to go telemarking? I would love to explore more of Europe and hopefully South America one day.
  • Did you compete? What prizes did you win? The only person I am competing with is myself.
  • What is your job ? I make carbon fiber wings for jets, and ski tech on the side.
  • What other sports or others activities do you practise? When I can't ski, I love to mountain bike and fly fish. Pretty much anything in the mountains.
